Introduction
Extreme crimes need to be tackled strictly
strict punishment is need of the hour
still my opinion- favour/against
BP1 Rapes, murders, terrorism
it creates fear among criminals
example: Muslim country’s law- beheading
BP2 Set criteria for punishing culprits/doers of the crime
Western countries do not have capital punishment
Laws and authorities are strict
Implementation of existing laws required
With capital punishment people are deprived of rectification
Our world has been developing with immense leaps and bounds but unfortunately the crime rate is accelerating at the same pace. An intellectual section of the society feels that culprits who take the lives of innocents, rape the girls and spread terrorism should be hanged to death while others disapprove this notion as they feel that some other alternatives should be adopted to punish the wrongdoers. I solemnly believe that right to live should never be interfered however stringent punishment is need of the hour.
Looking at the ongoing scenario, it can be inferred that doers of heinous crimes like rapes shall be immediately hanged to death without any second thought because feeling concerned about such elements would only make the scene worse. After that, terrorists are the ones who shall be eliminated from the society as if they cannot empathise with people, then why judicial system shall sympathise with them. To manifest it, Muslim countries deal with ‘no mercy policy’ with the offenders and that is why the crime rate is significantly low there.
Another perspective shall also be taken into consideration before reaching the final verdict, western countries do not have capital punishment but their laws are so strict that crime rate is comparatively extremely low than the eastern countries. The simple fact is that authorities need to be more vigilant and stricter so that the existing laws can be strictly implemented. Along with that, new laws shall be introduced to reduce the crime rate. Next concerning point is that when a person is given capital punishment, then there is no chance of rectification as in many cases people just get trapped because of personal rivalries.
To wind up, a middle path can be adopted, and uncompromising punishments can be introduced to make improvements in our world however no innocent life shall be taken away.
