In this era of cut-throat competition it has become quite essential to take part in different kind of competitions as it paves the road to achieve success. Even I have participated in ample of events and won many prizes. But here, I would like to talk about one such competition in which I yearn/desire to participate. It is none other than cultural dance competition which is going to be held in December of this year. This is a regional competition in which contestants from all over Punjab and neighbouring states will come to take part. I also want to compete in this competition because I am a dance lover and I want to set up my career as choreographer. Moreover, this event will give me an opportunity to perform in front of eminent choreographers like Vaibhvi Merchant, Reno D’souja and Terence Lewis as they will be the part of jury and judge the performances of all the participants. So,  If I won this competition, I would be on cloud nine as It is a glorious opportunity to win the cash prize of rupees 10 lacs along with an offer to work with famous dance choreographer. Although, it is going to be a daunting task for me, but I am really burning midnight oil for winning it and I am eagerly waiting for this event to start.

What kinds of people are competitive? 

According to my way of thinking, individuals who have burning desire to achieve something in their life, and want to know about the limits of their calibre are usually competitive. Additionally, the ones who know how to challenge themselves and work beyond their limits are always competitive.

What kind of activities/competitions people like to take part in? 

In my perspective, most of the individuals prefer to participate in competitions in which they have keen interest and talent. However, it is commonly observed that sports competitions as well as artistic activities such as painting, dancing, cooking, singing are quite popular among masses.

What kinds of competitions are popular in your hometown?

Numerous kind of events are being organized every year by local clubs of my hometown such as kabaddi, hurdle race and badminton competitions. Along with it, people also get opportunity to compete in dance and quiz competitions. These events are popular because residents of my hometown do these activities in their leisure time to reduce their stress.

Why do you think there are so many competition programmes on TV today? 

The most prominent reason is that audience wants to watch such kind of shows and usually, these competition
programmes can fetch high target rating points for the channels. Furthermore, these shows don’t require much planning and are profitable source of income for producers. These are the reasons why competition programmes where the participants leave no stone unturned while entertaining the audience are in trend.
