Technology provides us a lot of means to communicate. But now that people have the ability to talk to each other in wider variety of methods, our communication and social abilities have taken a step back. What do you think of it?
The advent of globalisation has opened a variety of avenues for us to stay in touch with our relatives living across the borders. However, this trend has left adverse impacts on our social life as modern tools of communication have replaced the face to face interaction which works as an essential thread in the fabric of society.
To initiate with, technological advancement has proven to be a boon for our society as it has brought our near and dear ones virtually close enough. The scientific innovations of contemporary world have faded the boundaries as we can contact anyone across the borders. Moreover, the advent of internet has revolutionised the traditional ways of communication. For instance, now a days, people can talk to their relatives for long hours without the restriction of physical presence through applications like WhatsApp, Skype, Google Meet and so on.
Interestingly enough, telecommunications also have a dark side as people now a days do not have much of real-time interactions with their relatives or friends. As it has been observed that people have become so obsessed with the virtual world that they do not sit with their families and share feelings or thoughts with them. Due to this, people are becoming victims of depression, loneliness and impatient behaviour which they do not notice in the initial stages.
While reiterating, it can be recalled that anything in excess is harmful. However, we cannot neglect the fruitful outcomes of technological communications but it should be used in a confined and refined manner.
